IP Week-18 Learning Plan Phase 3 & Rationale Video
Learning Plan Phase 3: What have I learned?
1. What actions have I taken?
The action I have taken so far:
- Conducted interview to the target audience
- Learned how to soldering
- Made a simple prototype
- Tried 3D printing (just one time)
- The functions that I wanted to apply in my product (Timer, lighting effect, wireless charge, sound effect)
- Learned how to use CNC machine
- Learned how to use vibrating sand machine
- Made a complete digital artefact
2. What barriers have been removed?
Some barriers have been removed, such as laziness. I spent a lot of time in the fab lab, experimenting with soldering, designing digital artifacts. The process may be boring, but I've been working on it until I get the results I want.
When I had a problem, I didn't escape it. If I really can't figure it out, I'll ask my lecturer or my peers.
Although sometimes I am still lazy to solve certain things, after a few days off I will try to solve them as much as possible.
3. What has changed about what I don’t know?
Yes, I learned something about Arduino. At the same time, I learned that the thing that interests me the most is soldering, because I often like to fix things by myself. This is very useful to me. I also learned and used machines I never touched before, such as the CNC machine, 3D printer.
Although some of these machines I have only been used once, I am interested. I will keep trying them after this subject.
4. Do I know what I want to know?
Yes, I know more about what can and cannot be done in my final year project. I don't think I want to do digital artefact or physical installation as my final year project in the future, because it's too troublesome. And also spend money. But I'm glad this time I chose to do this project. Because I have never touched physical interaction design before. This time I finally got in touch with this subject. Although the final year project I will not choose to do a physical installation, it will be my interest.
