IP Week-9 WIP

The new relay arrived this week and I tried it immediately. As a result, I found that it still does not work properly as well. After I went to the forum to find information, I found that it was not working properly because of insufficient power supply.

After that, I inserted the wire of in1 into 3v or GND according to the method of the forum, and the relay can work normally.





Besides that, the push button I purchased also arrived, so I tried it too. With these codes, now I can power down and power up with the push button.




I tried to integrate this code with the RGB code, but it didn't work.

After a few days, I integrate a simpler RGB code and it worked. And also, I realize the relay is a bit different from other components because the relay will only switch normally open (NO) to close when the digitalWrite = LOW.

At the same time, my lecturer told me to explore more pattern design, so I going to think some different designs than before.

I tried to change a bit my concept because after I listen to my lecturer's feedback. My lecturer said it's better to have a sound effect when the user is self-regulating. So, I was thinking if the phone dock has 2 modes, one is normal wireless charging, another one is self-regulation wireless charging. Therefore, I can have more sound effects to apply in my product, which are Open SFX, Self-regulation SFX, Warning SFX, and Shut Down SFX. However, after consulting the lecturer, my lecturer said this would be different from what I originally intended.  Because now users have options, they can choose not to use the self-regulation feature. IP Week-11 Choose Design & Concept

Based on two designs from last week, I chose to use trees as my design concept. Concept (Tree):  The road to success is always difficult, just like the process of growing a sapling into a big tree. When the user puts down the phone, the trees have a white light that fades in and out, which means they're trying to grow (to achieve success). When the user picks up the phone, the tree shows an orange fade, which means the tree has no input and it going to dies. After 20s, if the user still hasn't put the phone back on the Dock, the tree will show the red light fading out (the tree is dead). IP Week-10 Prototype 1.0

This week I simply experimented with different states of buttons to show different lighting effects. Press and hold the button to display a light blue breathing light effect; release it, there will be a dark blue light effect for 2 seconds; press it again quickly to cancel the dark blue light effect immediately. Besides, I have also reduced the power sources of the prototype. Previously it required 2 power sources to work (one for Arduino, another one for wireless charger). Now I extend the wires from 5v2a adapter to provide power for Arduino and wireless charger.
