IP Week-6 Design & Sound Effect
Since the last few design ideas were not good enough and there were few drafts, I thought about a few more design ideas this week.
When the user puts the mobile phone down on the phone dock, there will be a sound of water droplets to indicate that the phone dock is starting to work, and the user should start to focus on their work. When the user's mobile phone receives a message and wants to reply, the user can pick up the mobile phone and reply to the message. When the user picks up the phone for more than 20 seconds, the phone dock will make a rapid water drop sound, and then the water drop sound will become slower and slower until it stops. This indicates that the water droplets have stopped and no longer dripping on the stone. Of course, if the user does not want to continue working, they only need to press the button on the phone dock, and then the phone dock will play a unique water drop sound to indicate that it stops working.
At the same time, I asked 4 target users what they thought about sound effects this week. They all said that the sound effect when putting down the phone can let them effectively know that the phone dock is working. But regarding the sound effect when the user picks up the phone for more than 20 seconds, the 4 users have different opinions. 1 user thinks that the sound effect was a bit scary. 3 of the users said that the sound effect was annoying but didn't give a strong feeling to them to put back their phone. Finally, the sound effect of the end, that unique sound effect can make them feel the feeling of the end but the ambiance sound effect can be longer, which would give users a sense of release. Regarding the concept itself, they said that it gave them a certain degree of strength to help them concentrate on their work.
